How to prepare your kids for photos with Santa

You know, folks, it just wouldn’t be the holiday season without a few snapshots with good ol’ Santa Claus, right? And if it’s your baby or toddler’s inaugural meet-and-greet with the big man in red, well, let’s just say it’s an event worth preparing for. But hey, if your little one tends to treat strangers like they’re members of an exclusive club, you might be sweating bullets about those perfect Santa photos. Don’t fret, though, because I’ve got some tips to make this adventure as smooth as a cup of hot cocoa.

Before the Santa Snap:

First things first, let’s hype up the kiddo. Seeing Santa for the first time can be a bit like meeting a celebrity, what with the fancy hat, that flashy red suit, and the epic beard. So, get them pumped and show ’em what to expect. Maybe pop in a couple of Christmas movies or read ’em a Santa-themed book to get the ball rolling.

Be ready to jump into the photo if your child’s nerves start acting up. You might just have to be the buffer, so make sure you’re camera-ready just in case.
Bribe your older children. Later bedtime, Sonic Ice Cream, whatever it takes. It works, I promise.
