3 Benefits to a Winter Portrait Session

When you think of planning a portrait session, the cold, winter months may not immediately seem like the best time to do them. But I’ve been a portrait photographer in The Woodlands, Texas, for several years now, and this season is actually the PERFECT time to shoot your family or senior session. Here are 3 benefits to a winter portrait session.

It’s not hot.

We live in Houston, y’all. And we all know that some of spring, all of summer, and most of fall is just about unbearable as far as the heat and humidity goes. But in the months of January and February, we don’t have that issue. What does that mean for you? We can shoot a session without you sweating through clothes, your hair going haywire, and your makeup melting off. This alone is a good enough reason to have your portrait session in the winter!

Outdoor spaces aren’t crowded.

Because of the colder weather, oftentimes the outdoor spaces that are so crowded during the warmer months aren’t this time of year. That means less waiting on people to move out of our shot when we are shooting.

More availability.

After Christmas, the portrait rush tends to slow down. This means I have more availability in my calendar to get you in sooner than I would in the spring or fall months!

So there you have it: 3 benefits to a winter portrait session. This time of year is the really is the PERFECT time. If you are ready to chat about your family or senior portrait session, you can reach me right here!
